It's a....

I guess she isn't psychic. I'm in absolute shock. It wasn't what I was expecting at all and to be honest I am scared out of my mind. I didn't grow up around boys. For family, I had my mom and my aunt. Both of them had girls, my mom one, my aunt two. We didn't even really have many male influences around us. I'm not into boy things. I hate sports. I don't like rough and tumble behavoir at all. I like ballet and art. I like frilly things and am pretty girlie, girlie. So yeah, I'm scared.

Alex did say to me that one thing is for certain our son would always love me, his mother, and I guess this is true.

And I'll always love him. I just have to get used to it first.

You can still dress him as a girl while he's an infant! No one will know! Hahahahaha

Congrats! I have 4 sisters, all girl cousins, and have never lived with a male outside of my dad until I met my husband. I wanted a girl very badly because I "knew" what they were about, however, I had a boy. It took some getting used to, but boys are AMAZING creatures! Congrats!

Oh, Chrys, Congratulations on your son!

My very very girlie SIL wanted a girl when she got pregnant. She got a boy (two boys, actually) and you should see her with them and they with her. Definitely mamma's boys! They adore her! I know you'll be a wonderful mommy to your baby boy. Congratulations again!

Congrats!
I had the same thoughts. And I get a little spooked now and again, but its true that a boys relationship with his mother is a special thing.
If you're ever ready to share a name, I am ready to hear it!

Welcome to team Blue. Boys are awesome... at least I am beginning to thing so. You can turn him into a sensitive man who appreciates women and the arts. There are coaches for the sports you just have to sign him up and cheer from the sidelines.

Yay for a baby boy! You being on the more feminine side just means you'll have a very well rounded son. You'll be great at raising a boy :)

aw - congrats! For what it's worth, I have 3 older brothers. Mom told me she would rather have 3 more boys than another girl. I guess that means that I gave her gray hair early on. You'll be a great mom.

Congrats!!! I am very girly too and am a little unsure about boys...but I know somehow we'll figure it all out. I can't believe my prediction was right. I just had this 'boy' feeling about you. Now you can start shopping and picking out cute boy things. Yay for finding out!!!

Congratulations, sweetie. In every sport, when the camera zooms in on the players, what's the one thing they mouth to the camera? "Hi, Mom!"
It's never "Hi, Dad!" Luxuriate in the glow of motherly sainthood, Mom.

Jesus, way to be grateful...suck it up. I can only imagine the flaming you would give a Nestie for this. You used to would have said "be grateful you have a baby at all."

How times change.

Dear Ms. Present (whoever you may be since you are hiding), actually I wouldn't have flamed someone for this comment nor do I think I am in the wrong for stating my feelings in my own personal blog.

Did I say I disliked my son? No. Did I say anything negative about him? Nope, don't think so. The truth of the matter is we only have women in my family. Boys and boy things are foreign to me. So yeah, I'm scared. I'm not alone in these feelings. Nor am I going to be made to feel bad for any of my feelings I chose to share on this blog.

I suppose I should high five you for being my first blog flame. Way to go!!

So true what your husband said. Mine said the same thing to me - that sons just love their mothers, always (unlike daughters, who can sometimes have issues). Congrats on your boy!

Boys are a BLAST -- I promise! My SIL always said that she KNEW God would give her a girl because of how much she loves glitter, bows, & polka dots, but NOPE! She got the most testosterone filled boy in existence. & she just shudders & laughs every time he brings her a snail or slug. But I must say that boys are just the sweetest -- there is nothing more dear to my heart than my little nephew saying, "I love you, Aunt Blair!"

I'm VERY happy for you! (and also surprised, I totally thought girl for you!) You'll be wonderful with him.

holy crap! I can't believe it! I thoght for sure it would be a girl. I am shocked as well but don't worry - you'll be great Chrys.

Oh, and what did Alex say?

I'm so excited for you! I don't have kids of either gender yet, but I do have a brother who's quite a bit younger than I am, whose babyhood I remember clearly. Boys are sweet sweet sweet. You'll raise a fine son, Chrys, and you'll have a blast doing it.
